details for pixelle workers fund unveiled

CHILLICOTHE (April 3, 2026) - Nearly one year after the announcement that Chillicothe’s paper mills would close, Sen. Bernie Moreno was back in Ohio’s First Capital to announce details on the $5.5 million relief fund for Pixelle workers who lost jobs in the closure.

Moreno said the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio would manage the fund, which will be funded by $5.5 million handed over by Pixelle’s parent H.I.G. Capital last year. The first $1 million has been deposited in the FOA account and eligible recipients will recieve a letter and a W-9 form. Once the W-9 is returned, the checks will be sent.
