ACE Program training offered free to build career pathways
Ohio University Chillicothe is partnering with the USW Local 689 to provide training at their campus starting August 19 so that it can easily be accessed by Pixelle workers. The training provides a advanced manufacturing certificate that is sought after by employers hiring at the PORTS site in Pike County, and by manufacturers across the country. If residents had to go to a community college for this training, it usually would cost around $2,500.

Displaced paper mill employees can pursue entrepreneurial training as they transition to their future work opportunities through the Recover Appalachia program.

Paints offer free admission to game
The Chillicothe Paints are offering Pixelle employees free admission to their Monday, July 21 game versus Johnstown as a way of saying thank you to all the workers who have put their heart and soul into the final days of papermaking in Ross County.
