intro to manufacturing coming in november

Pickaway-Ross CTC and Eastland-Fairfield Career & Tech are teaming up to launch Intro to Manufacturing, a new evening course designed to prepare both high school students and adults for careers in advanced manufacturing — one of the fastest-growing, best-paying fields in our region.

Classes begin in November and run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:00–9:00 PM through April. Students will get hands-on experience with the tools, technology, and equipment used in today's manufacturing industry, building skills in manufacturing, production, robotics, and engineering. Along the way, participants can earn valuable industry credentials, including OSHA 10 General Industry, Lean Six Sigma Yellow, and several SACA certifications in electrical systems, mechanical power systems, and Industry 4.0.

Every student who completes the course is guaranteed an interview with at least one partnering company — a lineup that includes L-H Battery, Kenworth, Engineered Plastic Components (EPC), Qnity, Sofidel, and Anduril.

The program is free for high school students. Adults can enroll for $3,200, with a $1,600 scholarship opportunity available for those who complete the course successfully — cutting the cost in half. The registration deadline is October 28, 2026.

With job numbers in advanced manufacturing climbing, this program offers a direct path to real wage growth right here in our community. Pickaway-Ross CTC plans to expand on this momentum with similar course offerings in 2027.
