workforce hub extends hours

The Scioto Valley Forward Workforce Hub, a partnership between the Ohio Means Jobs centers, the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library, and many other partners, has extended its hours of service in response to the Aug. 10 official deadline for operations at Chillicothe’s paper mill.

While some employees will continue at the paper mill to clean and complete maintenance, many workers worked their last shift on Friday, Aug. 8.

The Workforce Hub will now be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the main annex of the library network, located at 140 S. Paint St.

UI (Unemployment Insurance) employees will be available to assist workers as they file for services and a variety of other resources (upskilling training, etc.) will also be available. Representatives from Ohio Means Jobs will be on hand to answer questions.
