‘Paper promises’ debuts on youtube
A new documentary feature has been released about the closing of Chillicothe’s paper mill and its impact on the community.
“Paper Promises - A Film for Chillicothe, OH” arrived today on YouTube and features appearances with laid off workers, local business owners, and an appearance by Mike Throne, president and CEO of the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce.
The feature touts itself as “(m)ore than just a story about a factory shutting down, Paper Promises is about broken trust, economic displacement, and the quiet resilience of a town determined to write its next chapter.” The feature also uses music from local musician Zac McFadden and images and articles from the Ross County Historical Society..
Directed by Grayson Kisker and Grant O’Brien, the feature is paid for by The Accountability Project 2025 and not authorized by any candidate, committee, or party. The film is executive produced by Nicolette Jaworski, Todd Rensin, Lauren B. Worley, Rebecca Houghton, and Rachel Rossi.
